The
answer is this .... About a year ago, two "Kidz Klub mums"
were drinking the night away in a local Liverpool pub when
at four in the morning a masked man walked in and shot five
people as part of an ongoing dispute that had already claimed
the life of a "Kidz Klub dad". Both of these mums have
lived on the same estate all their lives and both of them
now have twelve year old sons who in turn are looking at a
lifetime of guns and violence. Whatever people start to do
now for kids like this is almost certainly a case of too
little too late.
But
thankfully for other kids, like Lee and Sean, six years ago
someone did start to invest time, love and money in them.
Every week that person would go and visit them and let them
know that they were important, that God loved them and they
needed to decide to live for him. Every week for six years.
Today these lads are starting to make decisions that will
affect the rest of their lives; decisions that they are now
better prepared to make. Deciding not to follow the violent
lifestyle of people around them but to go to church events
like the Edge, Youth Alpha and Church instead. A fourteen
year old from the same estate recently told his older brother,
who had just come out of prison, that he could waste his life
selling drugs, but that he was going to go round the world
telling other kids about Jesus.
And
that's what Kidz Klub is all about, sharing Jesus with some
of the neediest and most vulnerable children in our city,
so one day they in turn will tell others. And it's working.
Over the last ten years we've visited over 10,000 families,
week in week out, giving testimony to the love of Christ not
just with our words but our actions too. Literally 1000's
of children have come through the doors of our Saturday Kidz
Klub and lives are being changed. To

partner with us in the unfolding story of Kidz Klub Liverpool
as God changes a city one child at a time?
