We currently do assemblies in 12 local primary schools. By going in each half term and presenting a brief message on the love of God, we're making sure that 4000 children regularly get a taste of His goodness.

Here's what some of our head teachers have said:

"The children are always excited to see them! The assemblies are excellent; well constructed, content always sound and are exciting and fun"
Mr P. Fleming, Headteacher,
St Michael in the Hamlet Primary School.

"The assemblies are lively and relevant to the age groups in KS 1 and KS 2. The children enjoy the enthusiastic and 'fun' approach."
Mrs S. F. Sutcliffe, Headteacher,
Heygreen Community Primary School.

We started taking primary school assemblies about six years ago.

The schools are in the neighbourhoods where we already visit kids. The assemblies help to raise the profile and level of respect for Kidz Klub among the parents in these areas, as well as helping to build strong relationships with the children and teachers.

We teach both infants and juniors in Protestant and Catholic primaries. Each time we present a different biblical truth, such as "God is good and His love never ends", "God made us all good at something", "Don't put your trust in useless things" and "God can do even more than we can ask."

We try to keep our assemblies as memorable as possible. This is acheived by making our teaching clear, varied, relevant, lively, and where possible, funny! Some time ago, we were using the theme "Show proper respect to everyone." The teaching included describing how if we don't visit the dentist, our teeth will rot. One of the workers then showed his teeth, blackened with face paint. Months later, the kids are still asking about the man with bad teeth!

God has given us great favour in the schools, which we don't take for granted. Often, as the children enter the assembly hall, they punch the air in excitement or give usthe thumbs up, which is always encouraging.

On occasion, we've been asked questions about what we've presented as the kids leave the hall. One small boy asked, "Is God really real, then?" as if the penny had just dropped. Sometimes teachers will ask us to pray about specific situations. One deputy head asked us to talk about not stealing, which made us realise that we'd won her respect and trust.
